The China-Europe freight train corridor via Ereenhot, a key rail gateway in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region and the largest land port between China and Mongolia, has handled more than 4,000 train trips so far this year.
The milestone was reached on Nov 3, when a freight train loaded with auto parts and daily consumer goods departed Ereenhot Railway Port for Europe.
The corridor now operates 76 routes, connecting more than 70 hub stations in over 10 countries, including Germany and Poland, while linking with most domestic departure cities for China-Europe freight services.
To improve cross-border logistics efficiency, railway authorities have strengthened coordination between border stations through an integrated operational model and regular information-sharing mechanisms. Dedicated fast-track channels have also been established for inbound and outbound trains to speed up cross-border transport.
The range of goods carried has continued to expand. Imports mainly include wood-based panels, kraft paper, and aluminum ingots, while exports feature new energy vehicles, household appliances, and daily consumer goods. High-value-added and high-tech products are accounting for a growing share, supporting the optimization of China's foreign trade structure.
