Hinggan League
Hinggan League, located in the northeast part of Inner Mongolia, in the middle of the Khingan Mountains, was named for its geographic location. Higgan refers to hills in Mongolian. Hingan League has an area of 60,000 square kilometers and is divided into six different county-level jurisdictions.
Hinggan League has abundant water resources, including 35 natural lakes and 22 reservoirs, with a total storage capability of 5 billion cubic meters. Hinggan ranks 2nd in the autonomous region and is the water source of Northeast China.
With rich conditions for agricultural development, it is also recognized as the "Golden Corn Belt" and the "best cattle farming belt”.
Hinggan's natural tourism resources are extensive. It has 10 nature reserves of all levels and kinds, consisting of more than 666,000 hectares. Arxan especially is a composite of National Geological Park and National Forest Park, and a typical experience area of conservation culture, with many natural features: hot springs, wetlands, volcanoes, glaciers, forests and prairies.
