Inner Mongolia completes integrated energy station for heavy-duty trucks
The first integrated energy station combining solar power, energy storage, charging, and battery swapping for electric heavy-duty trucks in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was completed and put into operation on Oct 30 in Juungar Banner, Ordos city.
The station is equipped with 96 high-power charging bays and two battery-swapping facilities, with a combined capacity of 38,000 kW. It can provide charging services for more than 2,300 trucks daily and battery swapping for another 200.
Integrating solar power, energy storage, ultra-fast charging, battery swapping, and virtual power plant management, the station is designed to support the growing demand for electric freight transport. Its ultra-fast chargers can recharge a heavy-duty truck in about 40 minutes.
To ensure a stable power supply, Inner Mongolia Power Group’s Xuejiawan Company has upgraded local substations and distribution networks and introduced a smart grid management platform for real-time monitoring and fault response.
The project will help reduce emissions and noise pollution along mining and freight transport routes, while supporting the green transformation of Inner Mongolia's energy and transportation sectors.
