Judicial order strengthens Huangqihai Lake protection
Four judicial authorities in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region have jointly issued an order to strengthen legal protection of the ecological environment in the Huangqihai Lake Nature Reserve.
Located in Qahar Right Wing Front Banner, Ulaanqab city, Huangqihai Lake is a nature reserve serving multiple functions, including biodiversity conservation, scientific research, and environmental education.
The order establishes seven strict prohibitions to address key environmental threats in the reserve. These include damaging or removing protected-area boundary markers; illegally reclaiming, enclosing, or filling in wetlands; grazing in designated no-grazing zones; dumping waste or discharging wastewater into wetlands; illegally capturing, hunting, killing, or trading wild animals; using highly toxic or persistent pesticides in the Huangqihai Lake watershed; and constructing buildings or structures unrelated to wetland conservation.
Violators will face legal consequences. Those whose actions constitute criminal offenses will be held criminally liable, while those causing ecological damage will be subject to compensation claims in accordance with the law.
The order also calls on the public to participate in wetland conservation and supervision.
