Inner Mongolia autonomous region organized a visit themed "Trace the Long March Footsteps, Discover Today's China" from Sept 15 to 20. The delegation from Inner Mongolia's departments traveled to multiple revolutionary sites across Yan'an and Ordos to trace the historical trajectory of the Long March and to investigate the revolutionary construction of the Communist Party of China (CPC) during its Yan'an period (1935-1948), as well as the early development of the Party's ethnic policies.

The visit began with a tour of the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall, where the delegation gained a systematic understanding of the CPC Central Committee's efforts to lead resistance behind enemy lines and build revolutionary bases after settling in northern Shaanxi province.

At the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site, where the CPC's Seventh National Congress was held, the delegation explored key landmarks, including the Central Auditorium, the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and the former residences of veteran leaders. The preserved sites and artifacts recreate scenes of the Party Central Committee conducting revolutionary command and theoretical exploration during that era. The delegation further immersed itself in the CPC's 13-year struggle in Yan'an by visiting symbolic red landmarks such as the Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site and Baota Mountain.

The delegation traveled to Wuqi county on Sept 17, the endpoint of the march. There, they visited the Central Red Army's Long March Victory Memorial Park, revisiting the moment the army arrived in northern Shaanxi.

The visit then shifted to Ordos' Chengchuan town on Sept 18, where the delegation toured the Chengchuan Memorial Hall to study the Party's early exploration and practices in ethnic policy.

As part of their field research, the delegation visited the Dishaogou Memorial Park and participated in a simulated marching experience. They also explored the Yang Zao Han Chun Pasture Exhibition Hall. The visit highlighted the historical accounts of international friends who supported the Chinese revolution and the covert desert transportation networks.
