The 2026 Green Computing (Artificial Intelligence) Conference is scheduled to be held on Aug 22 in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The event will bring together government officials, academicians, experts, scholars, leading companies across the computing industry chain, and representatives from universities and research institutions.

Having been held three times, this year's conference will focus on deeper integration between computing and power resources, unlocking the value of AI tokens, and expanding international cooperation. It aims to provide a platform for industry-wide exchanges and collaboration and promote the high-quality development of China's green computing industry.

A national computing hub for video foundation models will be established during the conference, along with a matchmaking event for high-quality datasets and data annotation services.

Leading companies, including ByteDance, Cambricon, and CATL, are expected to sign agreements worth tens of billions of yuan for projects involving green intelligent computing centers and token factories.

The event will also feature nine themed sessions and a meeting on the national computing hub nodes of the "East Data, West Computing" project.

Xu Zhifa, head of the Institute of Industry and Planning at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, said China's intelligent computing capacity had reached 2,185 EFLOPS by the end of June, with western regions accounting for 32.6 percent of the total. The Green Computing Development Research Report (2026) will also be released during the conference.
