Cargo throughput at Ganqimaodu Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has already exceeded 30 million metric tons this year, reaching the milestone 70 days earlier than in 2025, according to local border inspection authorities.

As of July 21, the Ganqimaodu Immigration Inspection Station had processed 476,000 cross-border passenger trips and 440,000 vehicle movements this year. During the same period, the port handled 30.12 million metric tons of import and export cargo, up 52.04 percent year-on-year.

Located in Urad Middle Banner of Bayannuur city, Ganqimaodu is a national first-class land port and a key hub for the cross-border transportation of energy and mineral resources between China and Mongolia.

To improve customs clearance efficiency, the border inspection station has strengthened the use of intelligent inspection systems by integrating artificial intelligence into inspection procedures and upgrading algorithms for its smart vehicle inspection system.

These measures have helped ease congestion during peak periods and steadily enhance the efficiency of cross-border logistics.

As a major gateway serving China's Belt and Road Initiative and the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, Ganqimaodu Port continues to improve connectivity and facilitate growing cross-border trade.
