The 2026 Inner Mongolia Tourism Development Conference · Summer Cultural and Tourism Consumption Season kicked off on July 9 in Ordos, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region.
Held by the Wulanmulun Lake in Kangbashi district, the opening ceremony featured a cultural performance by Ulan Muqir art troupes from across the city's banners and districts.
Their five-part show blended local art forms, including Ordos dances, folk songs, and Manhan tunes, showcasing Inner Mongolia's magnificent landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and the unity and vitality of local communities.

The event also introduced tourism benefit initiatives to boost summer consumption. A digital red envelope giveaway campaign was launched, distributing vouchers to visitors and residents to encourage travel and spending.
A highlight of the evening was the drone and fireworks show, where a fleet of 2,026 drones created 13 themed light displays over 15 minutes, accompanied by a fireworks performance featuring 24,480 fireworks shells, transforming the night sky into a dazzling visual spectacle.
Outdoor tourism exhibitions and a free lawn concert have also been launched in Kangbashi from July 9 to 11 with eight themed zones, including RV lifestyles, camping experiences, outdoor sports, leisure industry displays, and cultural markets, offering visitors immersive summer experiences.
