North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has unveiled a plan to develop an integrated transportation hub cluster centered on Hohhot, with the cities of Baotou, Ordos, and Ulaanqab serving as complementary hubs.

The hub cluster will also incorporate key transport facilities, including Hohhot Shengle International Airport, to create a multi-level, integrated transport network.

By 2030, Inner Mongolia aims to establish a one-hour railway network and a two-hour expressway network linking the four cities, significantly improving regional connectivity and supporting coordinated urban and industrial development.

The plan also seeks to strengthen transport links with major economic regions, including the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, northwestern China, Mongolia, Russia, and Europe.

The transport cluster is expected to play a key role in boosting regional connectivity, facilitating trade, and fostering high-quality economic growth across Inner Mongolia.
