The China-Europe Railway Express' middle corridor has recorded more than 2,000 trips this year as of June 2.

The milestone was reached when a freight train carrying 55 containers departed China through the Ereenhot Railway Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, the only railway border crossing serving the middle corridor.

To improve efficiency, Ereenhot Railway Port has implemented a priority operation model that ensures expedited train arrival, handling, transshipment, and the return of empty wagons.

The port has also strengthened its cooperation with Mongolia's Zamyn-Uud Station through an integrated management mechanism, enabling the two stations to share information on freight flows and yard capacity through daily communication and monthly coordination meetings.

Wang Jinzhong, an official from the freight and passenger transport management at the Ereenhot port, said it has enhanced coordination with customs and border inspection authorities, and promoted paperless clearance procedures through the 95306 Digital Port system. These measures have reduced the customs clearance time for the China-Europe Railway Express to less than 30 minutes in some cases.

Currently, 75 China-Europe Railway Express routes operate through the Ereenhot port, connecting more than 70 logistics hubs across more than 10 countries, including Germany and Poland.
