Flight 9D5685, operated by Genghis Khan Airlines, landed smoothly at Alshaa Left Banner Airport in Alshaa League, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on March 29 at 9:55 am, marking the successful maiden flight of China's domestically developed C909 aircraft to the region.
A traditional water salute was held to welcome the aircraft, and ground staff presented ceremonial hada (a traditional silk scarf used to greet guests) to the crew as a gesture of hospitality.
The inaugural flight carried more than 50 passengers from the region's capital city Hohhot to Alshaa, while over 60 travelers took the return journey, experiencing a new level of regional air service.

Local resident Gao Shuai said the new service will make travel more convenient and open up more opportunities to visit other cities.
As a key model in China's regional aviation market, the C909 features a 3.14‑meter‑wide cabin and strong performance in crosswinds and extreme weather.
The aircraft will operate the Alshaa – Hohhot route four times a week – on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Liu Ye, captain of Flight 9D5685, said the new route expands the commercial footprint of China's aviation manufacturing sector and enhances travel convenience and comfort for local residents. He added that the airline will continue to optimize its route network in response to local demand.
