Inner Mongolia to standardize energy and strategic resource base development
North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has issued guidelines to advance standardization in building a national base for key energy and strategic resources.
The Guidelines for Standardization in Building a National Important Energy and Strategic Resource Base outline development priorities for standards related to coal, rare earth, natural gas, wind, solar, and hydrogen.
The document aligns with industrial needs, technological innovation trends, and international standards development.
For coal, the guideline promotes standards for green and intelligent mining, efficient and clean utilization, low-carbon upgrades of coal-fired power, as well as improved coal storage, emergency reserves, and cleaner transportation to support a stable coal supply and value-added transformation.
For oil and gas, it sets out key standards for exploration, development, transportation, and the construction of green, low-carbon infrastructure to strengthen supply security.
In the renewable energy sector, the guideline focuses on equipment manufacturing, infrastructure construction, storage and transport systems, and emergency reserves related to wind, solar, and hydrogen industries, guiding their orderly and healthy development.
For strategic mineral resources, it calls for standardized approaches to green exploration, intelligent mining, and intensive utilization to balance development with resource protection.
It also prioritizes standards for rare earth new materials, digitalized production, and green smelting to promote high-quality utilization and regulated management of rare earth resources.
