West Inner Mongolia Grid exports green power to Zhejiang for first time
The West Inner Mongolia Power Grid has completed its first-ever green electricity delivery to East China's Zhejiang province, marking a new milestone in cross-regional clean energy trading.
Coordinated by the Inner Mongolia Power Trading Company and the Beijing Power Exchange Center, the transaction involved 36.01 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, with a maximum transmission capacity of 1 million kilowatts.
This deal represents Inner Mongolia’s first green power export to Zhejiang and follows previous deliveries to Jiangsu, Shanghai, and Anhui, further expanding the domestic market for green electricity and injecting fresh momentum into the building of a unified national power market.
The transaction broadens channels for renewable energy consumption in Inner Mongolia, enhances the visibility of its green power brand, and supplies Zhejiang with additional low-carbon energy.
Looking ahead, Inner Mongolia plans to promote long-term green power trading with provinces in East China, improve market-based cross-regional trading mechanisms, and continue exporting green electricity nationwide to better serve China’s overall development goals, said Han Feiyi, an official from the Inner Mongolia Power Trading Company.
