Juyanhai Lake in Ejine Banner, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has come to life with the arrival of swans and other migratory birds.

Since the unified water-dispatch program began in 2000, the eastern part of Juyanhai Lake has not dried out for 21 consecutive years. Its surface area has consistently ranged between 37 and 43 square kilometers, with steadily improving biodiversity.

From 2010 to now, 149 bird species have been recorded at Juyanhai Lake, including 14 under China's first-class national protection and 32 under second-class protection.
