The departure of a train loaded with auto parts, household appliances, and daily goods from Ereenhot Railway Port in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on June 1 marked a new milestone as the 1,500th China-Europe freight train to depart from the port this year.

As one of China's key border railway hubs, Ereenhot has rapidly expanded its international freight network. In the second quarter alone, the addition of new routes such as Wuhu–Moscow and Liulihe–Minsk brought the total number of active lines to 73.

The port now connects with over 70 logistics hubs across more than 10 European and Central Asian countries, including Germany, Poland, and Russia. Domestically, the trains link with more than 60 cities across 24 provinces and autonomous regions.

The variety of cargo has expanded to over 10,000 product types, encompassing automobiles, precision machinery, electronics, textiles, and consumer goods.

To ensure efficiency and reliability, China Railway Hohhot Group has enhanced cooperation with Mongolia's Zamiin-Uud station through regular bilateral coordination. The port has also expanded the use of open-top containers and optimized train formations and has adopted the digital customs platform 95306, which has streamlined clearance procedures, reducing average processing times from 7–8 hours to as short as 2 hours.

As of May 31, the port had handled 1.90 million metric tons of cargo this year, up 8.2 percent year-on-year. Exports of new energy vehicles and machinery components had surged, while traditional categories like household appliances and daily necessities continued to grow steadily.
