Alshaa signs up 32 new energy projects, worth 169b yuan

Alshaa League – located in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – signed up 32 new energy projects on Feb 4, with a total investment of 168.82 billion yuan ($24.92 billion), according to local media reports.

Seven companies – including Huadian Inner Mongolia Co, China Resources Power and Envision Energy – signed an agreement with Alshaa to build a new energy power plant there that will cover an area from Helan Mountain in the Tengger Desert to the middle-eastern area of Inner Mongolia.

The Alshaa High-tech Industrial Development Zone and the Luanjingtan Demonstration Zone signed agreements with six companies on decentralized power generation project with a total investment of 618 million yuan.

Alshaa Left Banner, Ejine Banner, the Alshaa High-tech Industrial Development Zone and the Luanjingtan Demonstration Zone signed investment project agreements with more than 10 companies with a total investment of 82.2 billion yuan. These projects involve new energy, equipment manufacturing, energy storage and other fields.

Against the background of the national dual carbon goal, clean energy is becoming the core element of high-quality development in the area.

The autonomous region is vigorously promoting the construction of clean energy in the Gobi desert and other areas, and is accelerating the reshaping of the development of infrastructure for energy production.
