Baotou has advanced employment-related initiatives since the beginning of this year. By the end of April, the city recorded 12,600 new urban jobs, 3,897 re-employments of laid-off urban workers, and 1,332 job placements for people facing difficulties finding work.

To boost people's work prospects, 294 employment service specialists have been dispatched. They visited key industries, major projects, and leading enterprises to conduct targeted field surveys, tapping 17,600 new jobs, expanding employment channels from the source.

On this basis, the city has built efficient platforms to connect job seekers and employers. It has also held 234 online and offline recruitment events.

By adopting diversified approaches including job fairs, live-streaming recruitment, and targeted labor dispatch services, the city has effectively eased difficulties in enterprise recruitment and public employment.

The city has implemented employment-stabilizing and enterprise-benefiting policies, reducing and exempting unemployment insurance premiums worth 358 million yuan ($52.62 million) for insured enterprises, and issuing various subsidies totaling 12.12 million yuan to help upgrade people's skills and support employment internship programs, easing operational burdens for enterprises.

The city has also established a dynamic unemployment monitoring network covering 2,800 enterprises across 23 industries to keep track of changes in the employment market in real time.

Focusing on key groups and delivering targeted assistance, Baotou has held special job fairs and policy briefings at local universities, including Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology and Baotou Teachers' College. These have benefited nearly 10,000 graduates, with 2,698 having reached preliminary employment intentions with enterprises.

For registered unemployed personnel, comprehensive information collection and tailored services have been carried out. Relevant departments have provided employment referrals, training recommendations, and policy implementation for 24,600 people.

Unemployment insurance benefits worth 89.18 million yuan have been issued to 9,780 recipients.
