Baotou student wins national honor

Li Junhui, a student from the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST), won the national third prize in the 17th Chinese Mathematics Competition for College Students, held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, from April 17 to 19.

The competition, launched in 2009, is a high-level academic contest open to undergraduate students nationwide. It is also one of the largest and most influential mathematics events in China.

This year's competition featured 32 divisions across the country and attracted more than 352,000 undergraduates from 1,322 universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University, and Fudan University.

IMUST has participated in the competition since 2017. To date, the university has coached more than 1,000 students and has won six national third prizes and 284 divisional awards.
