Baotou adds overseas station for China-Europe Railway Express

Updated: 2026-02-03

The first China-Europe Railway Express train of 2026 from Baotou carried a full load of goods and departed for Bely Rast Station in Russia on Jan 30.

This is the fifth overseas station to open for Baotou's China-Europe Railway Express, marking a further improvement in the layout of overseas stations and injecting strong impetus into the city's high-quality development and opening-up.

Baotou's China-Europe Railway Express trains currently serve stations including Yekaterinburg, Syatyino, Vorsino, and Elektrougli. The newly added Bely Rast Station has further enhanced overseas transportation channels, opening up a more efficient export route for foreign trade enterprises in Baotou and its surrounding areas and building a new bridge for deepening economic and trade exchanges with countries along the Eurasian route.

The train carried 55 containers of domestically manufactured vehicles, with a total cargo weight of 292.05 metric tons valued at 25.2 million yuan ($3.62 million). This not only provided stable logistics support for domestic automotive brands to explore the Russian market, but also used high-quality products to polish the "Made in China" brand, laying a solid foundation for more high-quality products from Baotou and China to go global and deepening trade cooperation with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

The launch of this train has kicked off a new chapter in the operation of Baotou's China-Europe Railway Express trains and further consolidated the foundation for the city's opening-up. Baotou will optimize the train's operational efficiency and improve its service quality, helping more high-quality products go global.
