Baotou's Intellectual Property Operation Center for Rare Earth Functional Materials Industry made the list of the first batch of national industrial intellectual property operation centers, which was recently by among the China National Intellectual Property Administration, with 65 units nationwide included.

This means that the city's innovative ability and intellectual property operation level in rare earth functional materials have now been recognized by the state.

Baotou has rich rare earth resources and a complete industrial chain, with the demand for intellectual property protection and application increasing day by day. The Baotou municipal market supervision bureau has deeply integrated intellectual property work into the overall development of the rare earth industry, established a rare earth industry intellectual property operation service system, and laid out the construction of the Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Micro Drive Motor Industry Intellectual Property Operation Center and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Rare Earth Industry High Value Patent Cultivation Layout Center.

The centers have accumulated 841 operating patents, implemented 42 patent industrialization projects, and achieved an output value of over 15 billion yuan ($2.11 billion). The high-value patents have won numerous awards at the China Patent Awards and Inner Mongolia Patent Awards.

The city will build a high-level industrial collaborative innovation platform, cultivate a group of high-value core patents with leading technology, excellent quality, and strict layout in rare earth functional materials, promote the construction of a modern rare earth industry chain with stronger innovation and higher added value, and inject new impetus into the high-end, green, and intelligent development of China's rare earth industry.
