On Sept 15, the Western Technical Education Alliance of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was launched in Baotou.

During the launch ceremony, four groups of school enterprise representatives signed cooperation contracts on key projects, promoting the implementation of school-enterprise collaborative education.

The alliance has gathered more than 20 technical colleges and 80 enterprises and will promote the training of technical and skilled talent through resource sharing and collaborative development, serving the upgrading of local industries and economic structures.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Baotou's technical colleges have trained a total of 3,927 graduates, with over 85 percent directly entering technical positions in enterprises or joining enterprise production after further education. Currently, there are over 3,500 students in technical colleges in the city, providing strong technical talent support for Baotou to accelerate its path of innovative development in old industrial bases and return to the highest historical level.
