On Aug 31, the Baotou-Huinong section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-speed Railway completed its first full line connection test, marking another major step toward its opening.

During the test, the comprehensive inspection train carried out tests on track geometry, roadbed condition, bridge and tunnel condition, trackside equipment, and contact network performance at the designed speed, with all the indicators meeting the relevant regulations.

The Baotou-Huinong section is expected to be put into operation within this year, filling a gap in the high-speed railway network in China's northwest region. With the Beijing-Lanzhou High-speed Railway fully connected, the time required to travel between Baotou and Yinchuan will be shortened from 6 hours to less than 3 hours, making it the most convenient way to reach Beijing from the northwest region.

This not only facilitates fast travel for passengers, but also strengthens the economic and personnel exchanges between China's northwest and north regions, injecting strong impetus into the high-quality economic and social development of the northwest region.
