2025 Baotou youth talent development forum opens

The 2025 Keju·Baotou Youth Talent Development Forum was held on Aug 26 at the Rare Earth International Hotel in Baotou, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, attracting over 70 doctoral students from universities across the country.

Du Pengdong, director of the Faculty Affairs Department at Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology (IMUST), stated that this forum was a key event of the third "Baotou Talent Week", aiming to create a high-level academic exchange platform and gather outstanding young talents.

At the opening ceremony, IMUST appointed Professors Wang Hetang and Wang Xuebin as associate academic deans and presented them with appointment letters. Shao Zhongjian, deputy director of Baotou bureau of human resources and social security, and Du introduced the talent policies of Baotou and IMUST, respectively.

During the forum's report session, renowned experts and scholars from the fields of metallurgy, mining, coal, and rare earths presented their latest research achievements and frontier progress, discussing technologies and trends. Various IMUST colleges also organized exchange seminars and talent assessment activities, strengthening the university's talent foundation.
