Baotou makes rare earth industry achievements
The Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths recently completed its 5,000-metric-ton pilot production line for rare earth functional additives. The line has entered the equipment debugging stage and is expected to be put into operation by the end of August.
This fully automated intelligent line produces rare earth heat stabilizers, rare earth flame retardants, and polylactic acid modified polymer special materials and products. The production process requires no more than five people and achieves a daily output of 20 tons.

The line has also established a rigorous quality tracking chain, from raw material warehousing to finished product packaging, with production data traceable throughout the entire process. An intelligent warning system ensures smooth and efficient production by identifying subtle deviations in the process.
This project is an important measure taken by the institute to grasp policy opportunities and promote the development of downstream materials and the application of rare earths.
Once completed, it will extend the rare earth application industry chain, transform research results into tangible economic benefits, and contribute to the construction of the "two rare earth bases".
