Baotou held the 2025 Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Conference and the fourth Inner Mongolia Hydrogen Energy Industry Development Promotion Conference on Aug 14.

Over 600 industry and enterprise experts discussed technological breakthroughs and the practical application of new research across the entire chain of green hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and utilization, advocating for a "green hydrogen self-circulation consumption" model.

The conference explored measures for advancing green hydrogen production, developing new materials, manufacturing fuel cell equipment, building pipelines, and attracting talent. Participants suggested that Baotou should promote the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the hydrogen energy industry by utilizing its comparative advantages in terms of resources, location, and industrial base.

Hu Chengdong, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Bureau of Energy, said that Inner Mongolia will continue to make coordinated plans in policy, technological innovation, and market cultivation.

During the conference, an appointment letter was awarded to Academician Tang Shuxian as a specially appointed scientist for Baotou's hydrogen energy industry, and advisory appointment letters were presented to Academician Li Xianguo and other experts for the development of Baotou's hydrogen energy industry.

Additionally, the "Green Hydrogen Self-Circulation Cooperation and Consumption Alliance" was established, and group-to-group investment matchmaking meetings were organized to promote precise supply-demand matching, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
