Updated: 2024-11-11

Baotou has once again made headlines in the field of science and technology innovation, with the Baotou Science and Technology Innovation Service Center winning its sixth consecutive Advanced Collective Award at the 12th Golden Bridge Awards organized by the Technology Market Association of China.

Bao Jinxiao from Inner Mongolia University of Science & Technology received first prize for the Individual Award; the only individual winner from the region. The School of Rare Earth Industry at the university also won third prize in the Project Award for its research on thermal barrier coating materials and preparation technologies.

Baotou has been focused on expanding technology transactions by broadening sources, building teams, and enhancing services. As a result, the city's technology contract transaction value has ranked first in Inner Mongolia for three consecutive years, with growth exceeding fifteen percent annually for four straight years.

From January to October this year, Baotou held 25 training sessions on technology contract registration, serving more than 150 enterprises and research institutes and engaging nearly 550 participants, with total transaction values reaching 1.37 billion yuan ($190.43 million).

The Golden Bridge Award, approved by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards, is China's highest honor in the technology market, recognizing outstanding contributions to technology transfers and market development.
