Baotou adds 10 private museums

A total of 10 private museums in Baotou city were officially unveiled on April 23, adding new splendor to the city's cultural landscape.

Ten privately-owned museums have recently received licenses. They include the Inner Mongolia Root Carving Museum, Guyang Radio Museum, Meidaizhao Museum, Yellow River Newspaper Museum, Yellow River Crafts Museum, Baotou Deer Culture Museum, Baotou Meteorite Museum, Baotou Rongwang Cashmere Museum, Wudangzhao Museum of Precious Treasures, and Inner Mongolia Electric Power Technology Museum.

Among them, the Inner Mongolia Electric Power Technology Museum covers an area of approximately 3,000 square meters and is divided into three exhibition areas. It introduces basic knowledge of electric power science and technology, outlines the global development of electric power, as well as showcases the development of electric power in Inner Mongolia.

The Baotou Rongwang Cashmere Museum promotes cashmere culture and knowledge, the history and development of the cashmere industry, the evolution of cashmere crafts and equipment, and the development of local cashmere enterprises.

The Baotou Meteorite Museum collects hundreds of meteorite samples from over a dozen countries and regions. Using electronic technology, the movement of various celestial bodies is showcased, while the spherical cinema vividly presents scenes of meteor showers.

It is reported that these 10 privately-owned museums have good basic conditions and development scales. They are set to further promote the standard of museums in the city.

Additionally, Baotou city has established the Baotou Museum Alliance, which leverages the professional expertise of the city's three existing State-owned museums in terms of employee training, professional guidance, and exhibition services.
