Hohhot has gathered numerous universities and research institutes in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Baotou, with its strong industrial foundation, has the most complete industrial system in the autonomous region. Therefore, there is tremendous cooperation potential between the two cities in regards to industrial technological innovation.

To comprehensively enhance sci-tech innovation and industrial cooperation, the two cities encouraged leading enterprises to cooperate with universities and research institutes in order to jointly establish innovation consortiums and improve industrial competitiveness.

Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co in Baotou, in conjunction with Beijing Mining University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and other universities, has established an innovation consortium that focuses on key systems and core technologies for large-tonnage pure-electric unmanned mining trucks.

"Pure electric unmanned driving technology is a key core technology in the entire mining engineering field. By establishing an innovation consortium, we can effectively promote the technology to achieve higher levels of development," said Wang Long, chief information officer of Inner Mongolia North Hauler Joint Stock Co.

In addition, Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co in Baotou signed cooperative innovation projects with several universities, research institutes, and enterprises in Hohhot during this event.
